  65. "ultimate scheduler".  Tracks services, receipts, disbursements,

  69. of each client's last ten bills to be re-prepared at any time.  Includes

  145. Note that a Windows 95 / Windows NT version of this program is also
  146. available.

  148. To install this program, extract the files from the archive into an empty
  149. directory (folder) on your hard disk and then run the SETUP.EXE program
  150. that will have been extracted. SETUP.EXE will cause the files to be
  151. copied to a hard disk directory of your choice, and then it will create a
  152. program group and icons.

  155. Note that this software is a living -- and evolving -- product.  It is
  156. constantly being enhanced as a result of suggestions from users.  If you

  161. PRINTING THE MANUAL:
  162.  
  163. The manual consists entirely of on-line help that is organized into
  164. several "chapters" referenced in its table of contents.  Selecting "Help"
  165. at the pull-down menu will take you into the help system, where you may
  166. search for information by keyword.  Pressing the F1 key almost anywhere
  167. within the program will take you directly to a section of the manual that
  168. discusses that section of the program.
  169.  
  170. Printing the manual involves several steps.  First, get into the help
  171. system ("Help" or F1).  When there, select the "Contents" button.  At the
  172. Contents page, select  File | Print.  After the Contents page has
  173. printed, select the first topic in the Contents listing.  When that topic
  174. appears, select  File | Print.  After that topic prints, return to the
  175. Contents page and select the next topic and print it.  Repeat this
  176. process until the entire manual has been printed.

  179. VIDEO PROBLEMS:
  180.  
  181. -> If text on the screen or printer seems improperly sized or does not
  182. seem to fit neatly into the areas where it should, there are two possible
  183. reasons:   One possibilty is that the video driver you're using may not
  184. be optimal.  Some drivers seem to be incapable of producing text of a
  185. selected font at the correct size, especially at the higher resolutions.
  186. If you have a choice between a driver that uses "large fonts" and one
  187. that uses "small fonts", choose the latter.  Video drivers are selected
  188. in the Windows "Setup" program (usually found in the "Main" group in the
  189. Program Manager). Another possible cause of poorly fitting text is that
  190. you may be either missing some font files or using font files that have
  191. been altered by other software.  This program relies upon the following
  192. ORIGINAL fonts supplied by Microsoft Windows:  Arial, Modern, and Courier
  193. New.  If they seem to be unavailable, they may be somewhere on your hard
  194. disk, but not installed.  Try using the Windows "Fonts" routine (found
  195. in the "Control Panel") to find and install (or add) them.
  196.  
  197. -> If vertical and horizontal scroll bars appear when the program loads,
  198. your window borders may be too wide to allow enough space for this
  199. program's screens to display in full.  Reduce the size of your window
  200. borders to 1 by running the "Desktop" program (usually found in "Control
  201. Panel" group in Windows' Program Manager).
  202.  
  203. -> If gibberish appears anywhere in the program, the problem is that the
  204. video driver you are using cannot produce all the fonts used by the
  205. program. Try another driver.  Video drivers are selected in the Windows
  206. "Setup" program (usually found in the "Main" group in the Program
  207. Manager).

  210. PRINTER PROBLEMS:
  211.  
  212. -> If fonts appear to be improperly sized, or if gibberish appears on the
  213. printout, make sure that the printer driver that you have installed into
  214. Windows is specifically matched to your EXACT printer model and that the
  215. driver was provided by the printer manufacturer, not Microsoft.  A
  216. "close" match or "emulation" may not be good enough, and Microsoft's
  217. drivers are generally less reliable than those from printer
  218. manufacturers.  If you must use Microsoft drivers, consider using one for
  219. a related printer.  If that doesn't work, try one for an earlier model in
  220. the same manufacturer's line (for instance, if you have an HP LaseJet 4,
  221. you might get the results you desire by using a LaserJet II or LaserJet
  222. III driver).  This program does nothing fancy with your printer.  It
  223. relies ENTIRELY upon Windows to pass printing instructions through the
  224. driver to the printer.  So why do other programs appear to work with your
  225. printer and the driver you are currently using?  Perhaps because those
  226. programs don't rely upon the same Arial and Courier New fonts that this
  227. program does.  Or perhaps the other programs are somehow bypassing
  228. Windows to print directly to the printer.  Be assured that if your
  229. Windows printer driver is a good match for your printer, this program's
  230. output will be fine.
